The Rules of
Whack-Bat

Kinetic Typography

Tools Used: After Effects

This kinetic type animation plays through a 30-second scene from Wes Anderson’s Fantastic Mr. Fox, a stop motion adaptation of the children’s book written by Roald Dahl. In the scene, Coach Skip quickly explains the rules of the fictional sport, Whack-Bat. The colors were chosen to mimic the warm autumnal scene on the field, and the typography to match Anderson's iconic graphic style. Along with the animation, I designed a poster for a Whack-Bat Championship hosted by the fictional school in the movie.
